The Best Irish Books of 2025

Published in September 2025, The Best Irish Books of 2025 is our annual reading guide and a celebration of the talent of Irish-born and Irish based artists as published in 2025. From débuts to our Laureates na nÓg, this guide celebrates the wealth of talent from the island of Ireland. As well as the 100 featured books, an additional 100 titles are also recommended to inspire further reading for ages 0–18.

Spotlighting a variety of genres across fiction, non-fiction, graphic novels, verse and many more, we’re encouraging readers to dive into a great Irish book!  Reviews are mostly in English and some are as Gaeilge, with editors’ choices denoted with a star and début authors marked with a megaphone throughout the guide. Every book included has been selected on the basis of excellence!
